AECoBuild is a free, offline 3D architectural modeling app for macOS, Windows and the web: SketchUp-style Push/Pull modeling, parametric BIM walls, doors and roofs, textured 2D floor plans, interior design with Auto Decor, tile and finish quantities, a live bill of quantities and GPU path-traced renders.

What is AECoBuild?
AECoBuild is a 3D architectural modeling and visualisation app that combines SketchUp-style Push/Pull modeling with parametric BIM elements, presentation floor plans, interior decoration, live quantity takeoffs and a GPU path tracer. It runs on macOS, Windows and in the browser.
How much does AECoBuild cost?
Nothing. AECoBuild is free to download and use — the macOS and Windows apps and the web modeler, with every feature included. There is no subscription, no trial limit and no account to create.
Does AECoBuild need an internet connection?
No. The desktop app runs fully offline: modeling, rendering, quantities and the material and furniture libraries are all built in. Projects are saved as .aecb files on your own disk.
Which platforms are supported?
macOS 11 or later on Apple Silicon and Windows 10/11 (64-bit). A web version of the modeler runs in current desktop browsers.
Which file formats can I exchange?
Native .aecb projects, IFC for BIM exchange, DXF for CAD drawings, and OBJ, GLB/glTF and STL for meshes. You can also import .glb models into your library.
Can AECoBuild calculate quantities and tile counts?
Yes. A live bill of quantities covers areas, masonry and concrete volumes, finishes, doors and windows, and fittings. The tile layout studio counts full and cut tiles for each room and adds a wastage allowance.
What units does it use?
Everything is modelled in millimetres with a Z-up axis system. Display and input switch between millimetres, metres and feet-and-inches.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. AECoBuild does not upload your projects. See the Privacy Policy for details on what the app and this website store.
